Bread Ingredients:
3 c. Flour (extra for rolling)
2 tbsp. Yeast
1 c. Warm water
1/4 c. Olive oil
1/2 tsp. Salt
Method:
Combine the warm water and yeast in a bowl and let the mixture sit for 5 minutes. Measure the flour, salt, and oil into a stand mixer (or large bowl). Add the water a kneed the dough for 8 minutes. Set the dough in a warm spot with a towel covering the bowl for 1 hour to rise.
Make the pesto while the dough is rising.
Lay flour on a clean surface and roll the dough into a large rectangle. Add the pesto to one side of the dough. Roll the dough into one long log. Cut the dough down the log starting 1 inch from the top (a portion of the dough should still be connected). Braid the dough and place it in a greased bread pan to rise for 30-45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375. Bake the babka for forty minutes. Enjoy fresh from the oven.
